Jeannie leads the Nampa Family Justice Center with compassion and vision. She oversees the day-to-day coordination of services, ensuring that every survivor who walks through the doors receives care, advocacy, and a path toward healing.

How long have you worked at the Center and what is your position?

I will have worked at the NFJC five years come this October. I have two roles at the NFJC: I am a child advocate, and I am the Sexual Assault Advocacy program coordinator.

For someone unfamiliar with the NFJC, how would you explain what it is and what they do?

The NFJC is a “ one stop shop” for survivors of abuse. It is a warm, welcoming, and compassionate place where victims can receive a variety of wrap around services. They can be connected to other professionals and receive community-based advocacy for holistic care. The NFJC advocates will walk beside them in their healing journey for as long as needed.

Tell us a little about your role at the NFJC.

As a child advocate, I provide advocacy to children and caregivers surrounding the forensic interview process. I help assess the client’s situation and offer resources that may be of help. I also offer hope and encouragement to victims and their caregivers during a difficult situation.

I had the privilege of building the SA advocacy program from scratch. This program offers advocacy to clients who are seen in a hospital setting for SA and DV forensic exam. Our team of four advocates offers comfort, support, encouragement and empowerment to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. We collaborate with a team of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners who provide medical forensic exams at four local hospitals in Canyon County . We offer resources and wrap around services to help a survivor in their healing process.

What is your favorite part of working at NFJC?

My favorite part of working at the NFJC is the comprehensive training that is continually offered and it is a privilege to work with such capable, compassionate , and supportive coworkers

What is most rewarding working with the clients and what can be most challenging?

It is a great honor to work with my clients. I consider it a great privilege to be trusted with the details of a client’s story. This is not a responsibility that I take lightly. It is a deep honor to be able to offer hope and encouragement to those who are suffering. The most difficult part of working with clients is witnessing suffering, pain and grief, and wishing they didn’t have to experience these things.

What brings you joy outside of work?

When I am not at work, I love to visit with friends and family, listen to music and podcasts, and drink coffee!
